Helix Board and Firefly Linux Compatibility
Posted by Rick Shao on 16 November 2015 05:45 AM

While Phonic is yet to develop a Linux driver for their Helix Board and FireWire devices, many customers have reportedly been using the fantastic driver found on www.ffado.org. According to reports we've received over the past few years, these drivers are compatible with the Helix Board 12 FireWire MKII, Helix Board 18 FireWire MKII, Helix Board 24 FireWire MKII, Firefly 302 Plus and Firefly 808. From this info, it would be a valid to assume the FireWire connection on Universal models may also work.

Customers have reported varying degrees of dependability and usability on this driver, and we're more than happy to receive comments on everybody's experience using their Phonic devices along with Linux. Receiving such comments will help us build a better idea of how popular and functional users find the OS and allow us to provide support later down the line.
