Trouble installing the Helix Board / Firefly driver?
Posted by Rick Shao on 16 November 2015 06:25 AM

Before trying to use your Phonic digital audio interface, it is suggested that you check www.phonic.com for all the latest driver updates. This will allow you to get the absolute most out of your Phonic product. To install the driver on Windows XP, Vista or 7:

  1. Extract the installation files into a new folder. This can usually be done by right-clicking the downloaded folder and selecting "extract files".
  2. Run setup.exe and follow the onscreen instructions. Do not connect your Phonic product to the computer yet.
  3. When the installation asks you to "disconnect" and "reconnect" the unit, plug your device to the computer and turn it on.
  4. Complete the installation.
  5. If you own the Firefly 808 or Firefly 808 Universal, do not forget to install the control panel software (also found within the driver folder).

There is no driver needed for Mac users. To use a Phonic audio interface, users are advised simply to connect the unit to the Mac. It should then be available in the AUDIO MIDI SETUP menu and your DAW software. Users wishing to use USB on one of our "Universal" devices are advised to check www.phonic.com for information on the available firmware update.
