How can I record the built-in effects using the Helix Board FireWire MKII?

First, use the AUX/EFX controls on all necessary input channels to adjust the signal sent to the built-in EFX processor. Select the Effect you wish to use and adjust the AUX 2 return control (which controls the EFX processors signal level) to an acceptable degree. (On the Helix Board 24 FireWire MKII, the AUX 3 return control adjusts the level).

After doing this, push in the EFX to monitor button, allowing the AUX 2 signal to be sent to the AUX 1 mix. This is not required when using the Helix Board 24 FireWire MKII.

On the master section of the mixer there is a FireWire select switch. This switch allows you to change the final stereo channel sent through the FireWire between the main signal, the AUX signal or the Group signal.

Setting this switch to AUX will then allow the EFX signal to be sent through the FireWire interface, allowing you to record the effect signal by record.
