Q: When recording with the Helix Board, I want to add the Compressor (or other signal processor) to my channels signal. How do I do this? A: To record any input channel with a signal processor (compressor, equalizer, limiter, etc.), you need to apply the effect before the signal reaches the mixer. So, for example, if you wanted to record a vocal mic with compression, you will need to connect the mic to the compressor, then connect the compressors output to one of the Helix Boards input channels; this will allow you to send the processed signal to the computer for recording. The FireWire and USB sends of the Helix Board are always pre-insert, therefore insert points cannot be utilized for recording. | |
