Multitracking on Helix Board 12 or Helix Board 17
Posted by Rick Shao on 16 November 2015 06:36 AM

The Helix Board 12 and 17's signal (to and from the mixer) is a stereo signal, therefore if you want to separate the two tracks, they should be panned to opposite sides (one to left, and one to the right). Or, if you are trying to get the separate tracks from the Helix Board to your computer, pan them to different sides from the channels individual pan controls. That way the left and right signals can be easily divisable through your program.

Naturally, you can only ever record two tracks at a time with this method, but if you already have the unit and don't want to fork out for a Helix Board FireWire MKII or Helix Board Universal, this may be a suitable solution.
