Remote control devices and "All MIDI Inputs"

Using remote controls is a handy thing, but please note this information using remote controls in conjunction with All MIDI Inputs of MIDI tracks: Your remote control device used a dedicated MIDI input/output port. This can be a port of your MIDI interface or an own MIDI port installed by e.g. an USB driver of the remote control device.

You should deactivate this MIDI input for using it as MIDI input port for MIDI tracks. If it stays active it can happen that data sent from the remote control gets passed/recorded on to MIDI tracks if these tracks are set to All MIDI Inputs. Please make the following change to your device setup:

  1. Go to menu Devices, Device Setup...
  2. Select All MIDI Inputs.
  3. Look for the MIDI port used by your remote control device then click into the column active and set it to no for the MIDI port.
  4. Data sent from your remote control to this MIDI input will now be ignored for all MIDI tracks where the input is set to All MIDI Inputs.
