How do I get the Recording Trim to work on the Helix Board?
Posted by Rick Shao on 16 November 2015 06:45 AM

The record trim is only for the main mix to be sent to computer, not for input channels. Only the gain control on each channel will affect the signal level to be streamed to computer. Before the signal is sent to the computer through the FireWire interface, it will be decreased 18dB for getting enough dynamic range for the digital domain. All digital devices will do this, so in digital 0 dB is equal to 18 dB in analog domain. This may let you feel the level is low when recording in your DAW software.
