How many channels can Helix Board stream simultaneously?
Posted by Rick Shao on 16 November 2015 06:46 AM

With the Helix Board 12 and Helix Board 17, 2 channels (the main left and right signal) can be streamed simultaneously. This is basically a limitation of the USB 1.1 connection.

If you wish to stream more channels simultaneously, the newer Helix Board 12 FireWire MKII, Helix Board 18 FireWire MKII or Helix Board 24 FireWire MKII (which connect through a FireWire connection rather than USB) will stream all individual input channels, as well as final stereo mix of either the main L/R, Group or AUX signals, to the computer for multi-track recording, mixing, et cetera.

As of 2008, Phonic also produces the Helix Board 18 Universal and Helix Board 24 Universal which allow for multi-track recording through a USB 2.0 interface.
