Real multi-track recording with the Helix Board / Firefly?
Posted by Rick Shao on 16 November 2015 07:50 AM

With the Helix Boards FireWire and Universal, and the Firefly series, each audio channel is sent separately to the computer and can be recorded as its own, separate track (these, however, can be combined later). If you wish to delete or alter any of the tracks later on, that won't be a problem. The only issue you may need to consider is the amount of hard drive space you'll need to save the individual tracks, and the amount of memory it may require (most modern PCs wont have a problem with this though). Many PC shops do offer PCs that have been optimized for multi-track recording, so this may be ideal for users who are unable to optimize their computers themselves.
