The article below was written by a satisfied Phonic PAA2 user:

This is the coolest of the cool and INCREDIBLY INEXPENSIVE, audio tool. One the best ways to identify feedback problems and frequency related audio demons is a handheld RTA. When my old GoldLine ASA-100 died a couple of weeks ago I started looking for a replacement and was able to borrow a brother audio pro's Phonic PAA2. I was blown away at the ease of use and myriad of other tools available on this unit! I did some research on the company and found out that an updated unit, the PAA3, that added RT60 measurement & a USB interface had recently been released. The approx $450.00 list price (the street price should be quite a bit less) for the RTA alone is definitely worth it, but it does so much more! If there is one must have handheld audio tool, this is it! CHECK IT OUT!

This is a fragment of a press release for the PAA3 written upon it's release:

The PAA3 is a highly accurate handheld audio analyzer that gives sound engineers a rich array of sound analysis tools. It features 31-band real time spectrum analysis, RT60 measurement, SPL and line meter, internal generator, EQ setting program, microphone calibration and speaker phase checking abilities. All functions and menus can be accessed through a central jog dial, leaving the other hand free to adjust audio settings. A USB interface allows users to easily upload information and settings to a computer. The large LCD screen has a visible back light for use in dark performance environments. A battery life of seven hours makes the PAA3 a very useful tool for all audio engineers. "The PAA2 was extremely successful because it provides engineers access to a vast array of incredibly useful PA setting tools in a handheld device. Moreover, it is easy to use, inexpensive and reliable. We have already received quite a bit of positive feedback about the added features and usability of the PAA3. We expect that the PAA3 will build upon the success of the PAA2 and even out-perform it in worldwide sales," commented Jacob Brown, Product Marketing Specialist at Phonic.
