Speaker polarity test with the PAA2, PAA3 or PAA6
Posted by Rick Shao on 13 November 2015 02:58 AM

The polarity test signal can be used to test the wiring of speakers. Send this signal to a speaker, and select the PHASE CHECK in the PAA2/PAA3/PAA6, standing a meter or so in front of the speaker. The PAA unit you are using will then tell you if the speaker is in phase or out of phase.

In phase (symbolized by a "+") means your speaker wiring is correct, while out of phase ("-") means your speaker wiring is out of phase. The level of polarity signal must be louder than the environment noise for the PAA2, PAA3 or PAA6 to give accurate readings.
